Getting to the Martha's Vineyard Sharks at historic Vineyard Baseball Park (The "Shark Tank") is part of the island adventure—think Steamship Authority breezes, scenic drives, and that unbeatable Vineyard vibe. Located on the campus of Martha's Vineyard Regional High School at 100 Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road, Oak Bluffs, MA 02557, our home field is just a short hop from the Oak Bluffs terminal. Whether you're crossing from the mainland or cruising from Boston/NYC, we've got step-by-step routes below.
Pro tip: Book your Steamship Authority reservation early (steamshipauthority.com)—summer sailings fill fast!Once you're dockside, it's an easy 10-minute drive or 20-minute walk to the park. Games start typically at 6:30PM or 7:05PM (gates open 45 minutes prior to start), so aim to arrive by 5:00 PM for prime parking. Let's get you to the diamond—Go Sharks!
Steamship Authority Info: Your Island Gateway
All routes lead to the Oak Bluffs Terminal (Woods Hole/Oak Bluffs line via Steamship Authority).
- Steamship Authority Car Ferry from Woods Hole: 45-minute crossing; cars, passengers, bikes welcome (reservations required; $200+ round-trip for vehicles).
- Steamship Authority High Speed Ferry from Hyannis (Cape Cod): 55 min; seasonal.
- Walking/Biking: Free racks at the terminal—stroll Lake Avenue for that classic Vineyard arrival.
- Parking at Terminal: $10-20/day; long-term options available.

Directions from the Mainland
From the North (Boston Area – ~2.5 hours drive + 45-min Steamship Authority Car Ferry)
- Take I-93 South toward Braintree.
- Merge onto I-90 East (Massachusetts Turnpike) toward Cape Cod (toll ~$7).
- Continue on I-90 E to Exit 10A for MA-3 South toward Cape Cod/Sagamore.
- Cross the Sagamore Bridge onto US-6 East; follow signs for MA-3 South to Falmouth/Woods Hole (~45 min).
- In Falmouth, take MA-28 South to Woods Hole Road; follow to the Steamship Authority terminal.
- Board Steamship Authority Car Ferry to Oak Bluffs.
- From Oak Bluffs Terminal: Head north on Lake Avenue for 0.5 miles. Turn left onto Kennebec Avenue, then right onto Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road. The Shark Tank is 0.3 miles ahead on the left (behind MVRHS).
From the West (Cape Cod – ~1 hour drive + 45-min Steamship Authority Car Ferry from Woods Hole)
- From Hyannis/Falmouth, take MA-28 South toward Woods Hole (~20-40 min).
- Turn right onto Woods Hole Road; proceed straight to the Steamship Authority terminal (signs everywhere!).
- Board Steamship Authority Car Ferry to Oak Bluffs.
- From Oak Bluffs Terminal: Head north on Lake Avenue for 0.5 miles. Turn left onto Kennebec Avenue, then right onto Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road. The Shark Tank is 0.3 miles ahead on the left (behind MVRHS).
- Direct from Hyannis: Skip Woods Hole—take the Steamship Authority High Speed Ferry straight to Oak Bluffs (55 min; seasonal). Exit terminal and follow the same local route above.
From the South (New York City Area – ~5 hours drive + 45-min Steamship Authority Car Ferry)
- Take I-95 North through Connecticut and Rhode Island toward Providence (~3.5 hours).
- In Providence, merge onto I-195 East toward Cape Cod.
- Continue I-195 E to MA-24 North, then back to I-195 E through Fall River to US-6 East.
- Follow US-6 E to MA-3 South across Sagamore Bridge, then MA-28 South to Falmouth/Woods Hole (~1.5 hours total from Providence).
- In Falmouth, take MA-28 South to Woods Hole Road; arrive at Steamship Authority terminal
- Board Steamship Authority Car Ferry to Oak Bluffs.
- From Oak Bluffs Terminal: Head north on Lake Avenue for 0.5 miles. Turn left onto Kennebec Avenue, then right onto Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road. The Shark Tank is 0.3 miles ahead on the left (behind MVRHS).
- Alternative Fast Ferry: From NYC, consider SeaStreak from Highlands, NJ, to Oak Bluffs (4.5 hours; seastreak.com)—bypasses Woods Hole!
Parking: Free & Fins-First
We've got you covered—parking is free and plentiful at the Shark Tank, with easy access right off Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road.
- On-Site Lot: 300+ spots at Vineyard Baseball Park (enter via School Street entrance). First-come, first-served—arrive early for playoffs!
- Overflow: Unlimited free parking at Martha's Vineyard Regional High School lot (adjacent to the field); short walk or free shuttle if needed (runs game nights).
- Rideshare/Bike/Walk: Designated Uber/Lyft zone on Edgartown Road. Bike racks at the gate; 10-min walk from Oak Bluffs Steamship Authority terminal via Lake Avenue.
- Carpool Tip: Traffic peaks around 6 PM—ride-share with friends to snag the best spots and keep the island green.
