The Sharks put on a great performance at the Shark Tank against the Mystic Schooners. The Sharks played very well on both sides of the ball but the pitcher Ronaldo Gallo stole the show. Ronaldo pitched six innings and could not have done better. He got ten Ks, let up no hits, and only walked two batters. The Sharks offense also played very well. They picked up ten hits compared to Mystics four and only left seven batters on base, which is less than what they have usually been getting. Through the first three innings it was all about the pitchers, until the bottom of the 4th rolled around. With the bases loaded Jake Elbeery roped a single that brought home two runs for the Sharks. Martha’s Vineyard led 2-0 going into the 5th. Through the next two innings, Ronaldo Gallo continued to have an incredible night. He was striking out batters consistently and never faced more than four batters an inning. He was then taken out in the top of the 7th but the night was already his. Jack Beauchesne was the pitcher who took over on the mound for Ronaldo. In the top of the 8th the Schooners offense got moving and tied up the game. An RBI single brought home their first run of the game and a fielder's choice quickly brought home the tying run straight after. The score was 2-2 going into the bottom of the 8th. The Sharks offense wasted no time and instantly responded to the Schooners two run inning. With the bases loaded once again, Dorian Gonzalez launched a two RBI double to up the left field line to give the Sharks a late 4-2 lead. In the top of the 9th Cam Hill was called out to the mound to finish off the Schooners. He led the Sharks defense to quickly retire the side and secure the home win.
